But it would be nice if the AA viewers would support AA actors.
---

This question would never be posed to a white viewer, nor should it be to any viewer. I wouldn't support any actor just because of their race, that's the ultimate in racism. I supported REG because I loved the character of Evangeline. Tika never gained the same support because ABC never invested in the character and gave you something to root for. I never supported Tobias Truvillion, because one, he couldn't act and two I hated his character. I love the character of Shaun, but hate Greg. DD as Rachel was so different from the original, she just never caught on, but she did have a fan following.
---

They still bash SH and GT is getting up the behind right now. They are pushing for a Rex and Kelly union for obvious reasons. They don't support neither of these white characters. But, all miniorities must support all minorities because it is our duty. RME. She's an idiot. A bad actor is a bad actor and Tobias was an awful actor.
---
You really are stupid. If I support all white actors, you tell me I am racist. If I don't support Evangeline, you tell me I am racist. If I support Destiny then I am supporting "the Negro shuffle." No wonder you never get what you want. All you want is Evangeline with a white man, or any AA actress with a white man. You really are insecure and don't find yourself worthy. Your whole self worth is based on having an AA character catch a white man. It sure does make it sound like you don't think AA men are worth much.
---

I think you're confused about the "Negro Shuffle". It's not about have a AA character male or female. It's how that character is treated and the purpose they serve on a show. This is inregards to Daytime or Primetime.

1. Original Rachel-had a large following. She had great chemistry with RH, NF and DG. When interest in her characters' storylines and pairings became a focus and interest was taken away from their favs. She's was removed.

2. Kerry-She had great chemistry with Antonio and Cristian. Antonio and Kerry had a huge following, but TIIC wanted her with Jessica. She's removed.

3. Evangeline-She had great chemistry with every male on the show. Something that the current females don't have. She has a hugh fanbase, but the TIIC wanted things their way and she left.

The current AA's on the show are window dressing for "Diversity" sake. They will never have a storyline, they will be sub characters. They aren't included in the "Negro Shuffle", because sadly their roles are tokens.
---
Well the original Rachel was story line related and was almost 20 years ago anyway. I thought that Sheri Saum wanted to leave 10 or more years ago. REG chose to walk. Over 20 years plenty of characters have come and gone, including white ones. Can ya dig any deeper into history? Let's see - Cassie was gotten rid, even after she finally had a child, LeeAnn was shoved out, Sarah was gotten rid of even though there was more story there, Kevin was fired, Nash ws fired, Jared was fired. Do you want me to go on. Calling this "the Negro Shuffle" really belittles those who fought for civil rights.
---

Your don't need to act (maybet it's not act) stupid. The comment was about "Negro Shuffle", yet you are commenting on Casse, LeeAnn, Sarah, Nash, and Jared. Correct me are they AA? No. They aren't. The female characters mention were dealing with the crap that AA has dealt with. But, as always deflect the issue to something else. Ingorance is bliss, and you're a blissful idiot.

But you do demonstrate your stupidity really well. You can't use three examples going back 20 or more years to cry racism, especially when two may have left on their own. We know that one did. I was refuting your accusation that they treat AA actors badly when I showed the number of key white characters that were fired in the last 15 years (and I only hit the tip of the iceberg of characters). Nobody takes you seriously because you whine about something that happened and treatment from 25 or more years ago. Why don't stop whining and start supporting?????

Why do people like you keep trying to prove that racism does not exist?

You make me laugh.

At least we can laugh at racists now. There has been progress. But we can't laugh at all of them. Just pathetic ones like this who spend their time dfending the cause of whiter soaps.

LOL! Yeah. Makes so much sense.

I hope this person is White because that would explain this post. If this person is Black they should keep that fact to themselves.

How does the term the "Negro Shuffle" belittle those who fought for civil rights? What it says is we still have some fighting left to do. Renee Goldsberry left because the network gave her no choice and they killed Kari/Sherri Saum off because she was being replace by Evangeline/REG, "the Negro Shuffle". White characters come and go on soaps, but when 90% of the cast is White what does it matter. OLTL refuses to allow people of color to grow roots, especially women of color.

Time to stop crying. Sheri was not let go for REG. From what I read, she wanted out of her contract. You love to make up things to try to look like you are downtrodden, don't you? They brought Layla on for Evangeline. She likely would have had more story if REG had accepted a very good contract and stayed. Renee Goldsberry wanted a better contract than actors equal to her. Contracts are a business decision, so negotitations stopped. She wasn't worth what she wanted. You really need to gain some self worth and stop thinking that it is all about race.

Don't put words in my mouth. I never said thre wasn't racism. I just said that you want more AA actors, but only have supported one on OLTL. If you want more, than show some support. I wouldn't call the show racist since they Hispanic and Hawaiian actors. What I am saying is that in the majority of the recent cases, the AA actors chose to leave. In one case it was because they wanted more than any actors of their status (meaning supporting)/years were offered

You know, I now understand why my Afro-Caribbean friends want nothing to do with AA. They have told me that they have no time for their (AA) whining about how badly they (AA) are treated. Take a clue from Caribbean people of African descent and gain some self worth. They seem to be very successful and have great self worth...

Finally, get a clue that diversity is not all about AA...
